Yesterday I hit submit on a session proposal for the annual Learning Forward conference next December. As I wrote the proposal all I could think about was Orlando Florida in December and the crazy thought of actually sunshine. I completed the session with Dr. Jamie Rielly (retired Superintendent) and Cathy Fisher from Maercker School District.
I like our session title of Excellent Teaching Everday Showcased on the District Hashtag and this really has been the case in Maercker School District. They are doing some amazing things with teaching and learning with technology. Watch what this k-8 school district by following the hashtag #D60learns. They are using social media creatively district-wide to tell the story of teaching and learning from the classroom. I wonder how many other districts are using social media this way?
We are part of a team of practicing educators that are writing a book about leadership and digital learning. We are working on revisions now, and we expect the book to be ready in Fall 2017. This is one book in a five part series 28 of us are writing together, what a wild adventure it has been! Our hashtag is #NowClassrooms.
